THIS PROJECT WAS A CHANCE TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND GIVE SOMETHING BACK TO the one thing THAT HAD GIVEN ME SO MUCH FREEDOM & SELF CONFIDENCE THROUGHOUT MY LIFE - SKATEBOARDING!
Concrete Girls pays tribute to a female subculture raised on skateboarding.
Thanks to the talented and influential females in todays skateboarding culture, I am delighted to have created a small part of skateboarding history through my first published booK Concrete Girls.
This project started in 2013, I travelled all over the UK meeting with the most influential riders in todays British scene. There were plenty of long car journeys, new spot finds, sofa surfing and hard work from these incredible women.
Concrete Girls is a photography documentation capturing the talents and the individual styles of these strong women in all THEIR beauty.
The one thing skateboarding has taught me is to be yourself, push hard, commit, express yourself, build friendships and see the world.
I hope this book will take pride on peoples shelves and will encourage a new generation of women to start skateboarding.
